Firm Profile

Jo-Ann Braverman, was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey.  She attended high school in Philadelphia, obtained her B.S. (cum laude) from Northeastern University in Boston, and her J.D. from the University of Miami. 

Ms. Braverman was working as an attorney/investigator for The Florida Bar, where she was investigating and prosecuting attorneys for ethic violations before The Florida Supreme Court.  Upon finishing, Ms. Braverman returned to Philadelphia in 1990, and began her practice as a sole practioner.  Her main areas of practice were adoption, custody and support, dependency, divorce, and family law.

In 1991, the mayor appointed Ms. Braverman as Commissioner on the Philadelphia Commission for Human Relations.  She continued as Commissioner until 2000, reviewing allegations brought by the citizens of Philadelphia concerning acts of discrimination in the work place, housing, and etc. 

Ms. Braverman was conducting public hearings on various issues like discrimination, making findings and recommendations, providing education and information to both the community and various entities; while maintaining her practice and her commitment and dedication to the idea that all persons are entitled to excellent representation at reasonable affordable rates.
